Mt. Washington saw their feet yesterday..

They're now over Mount Washington - Dad left me a message yesterday, and I was able to speak with him very briefly this mornng.

Dad was positively beside himself with their hiking over the past few days. He is hoping we can get the pictures uploaded before the Haaser family shin-dig, because he thinks the pictures will be breath-taking. He couldn't use the word gorgeous enough times to try to describe yesterday. I guess that means it was pretty good, eh? :-P

For reference:

  • Mount Washington, NH is 1,841.7 miles.
  • US2-Gorham, NH is 1,876.2 miles.

From the AT Companion:

Presidential Range - The highest part of the Trail in New Hampshire, with 25 miles of ridge-walking from Crawford Notch to Pinkham Notch, most of which is above treeline (about 4,400 feet). The A.T. skirts many peaks, but short side trails lead you to, and often over, the peak proper.

  1. Hi Ruth and Mike,
It was great meeting you. We met Blue Bird on Mt. Washington the day after we talked to you at Lake of the Clouds. We hiked with her that day and spent the night with her and 5 other thru hikers at Madison Hut. We saw your entry in the registry there and discovered that she had been hiking a few days with you.
Good luck on your hike. You two move really fast!

Hi to Bonnie and Jim if you are reading their guestbook entries. Hope to be back in Medina around the middle of Sept. The hike is hard, but the views from the top are out of this world!
