Dad called this morning (Day 3) at about 8:40am.
The first shelter they passed yesterday was Gooch Gap Shelter1, then Gooch Gap2; When Dad called, he said they were about 3 miles out from Woody Gap3, which is probably where they spent last night.

Dad mentioned that the wind howls through the trees at night. He said it was almost like being at the ocean - just a constant roar of wind in the background. He said that despite the noise in the trees, the tent was very cozy, and kept them "snug as a bug in a rug."
Dad said it was about 60°F today, so they were shedding some layers. Ruth has a few blisters, and Dad's knees are bothering him a little - they're in a very hilly area, and hills are rough on the knees.
They're target for today is Woods Hole Shelter4, though they're guessing they'll pass it.
